Book Summary

JORDAN JAMISON'S life-long dream has been to achieve Olympic Gold in pairs figure skating, and all indications point to her doing just that, until her partner abandons her for someone more mature. With Aleksei recovering from a leg injury that keeps him from skating for several weeks, and to keep Jordan from losing practice time, Aleksei is forced to be on the ice with her, confined to a chair, to 'watch and learn' the way she moves. Their battle of wills escalates, despite Aleksei's injury, and after an argument that nearly breaks up the new partnership, a tentative truce is called and the two skaters begin to view each other in a different light. Barely five feet four in her skates, her shapely figure, green eyes and copper-colored hair draw the attention of her new partner, despite his coach's demands to keep their skating a business partnership only!

Suddenly, Jordan doesn't look like such a little kid anymore, and Aleksei's mind begins to wander in ways that make his coach crazy as he tries to keep the pair focused on the business at hand - the search for Olympic Gold.

The difficulties Aleksei and Jordan face, as they seek to be the best pair skaters in the world teaches them lessons about life, yet they discover an even greater success, than Olympic gold, as they discover what 'for better or for worse' means when fate steps in and nearly destroys all they've worked for, and what truly loving one person is all about.*
